The 1972-1986 Jeeps use a linkage rod and bell crank pivot to engage the clutch. Because this rod system has a metal to metal pivot they wear out, which causes slop in the pedal or a loss of full clutch engagement. We at Barnett Performance Products have the solution. The BP kit replaces the stock rods, with stainless steel rods that utilize heavier Hiem Joint pivots at each end. Thus assuring a non wearing pivot and exact, consistant engagement of the clutch.
